Minas Gerais. XIX century. Back to his house, after a long journey leading a troop of slaves, Antonio (Adriano Carvalho) discovers that his wife died in labor. Feeling alone and isolated in an unproductive farm, he seeks a new marriage with Beatriz (Luana Nastas), a very young girl, who frustrates his plans to have babies. Antonio returns to the expeditions by trading slaves and cattle. Alone in the immense estate, Beatriz finds her companions in the slaves. A betrayal implodes the family in a spiral of violence, which is the announcement of the winds of change.
